Duct tape really DOES fix everything...

Tell me I am not the only mother that has resorted to duct taping a diaper onto my child!! I am too big and too pregnant to be chasing him around all day putting his diaper back on. Happy Saturday everyone!! :)

Birthday Boy!!

Britton's birthday fell on the day before we came home from New York so we decided to wait to celebrate. Well you know how life goes, one thing after another came up and almost 2 weeks late we FINALLY celebrated our little man turning 1!

Today I want to write some of my favorite things about the little boy that has completely stolen my heart.

* Britton LOVES taking baths. As soon as he hears the water running he takes off for the bathroom and its all I can do to keep him from diving head first into the tub! He loves having water dumped over his head and screams like a maniac when we have to take him out :)

* Britton is all boy! As soon as he sees a ball or a car he knows just what to do with it. He loves it when we toss balls to him and is quickly learning how to throw them back.

* Britton is very....hmmm......busy :) Just like I had to do with his oldest sister, all I do is follow him around all day and make sure he is not getting into anything life-threatening. Today for the first time he opened up the front door and tried to escape, luckily the other two little mothers in the house notified me of the break-out attempt :)

* Britton gives the best kisses! We are talking open-mouth, slobbery kisses with the "mmmwwwhhawww" and everything. Even though he is pretty stingy with them, once he starts you can't stop him :)

Britton is an absolute joy in our home. Some days when I have felt overwhelmed or inedequate the BEST part of my day is going into Britton's room and seeing his face light up when I walk in. Those are the moments that are all worth it. I love you Buddy Boy, and Happy Birthday!!

Something is missing...

and I just figured out what it is. This blog is seriously lacking some testosterone! :) It's been WAY too long since I featured this little man, and he is just to cute to ignore any longer.

Britton is something else, I tell ya! This is one sweet little boy. He loves to play with cars and the basketball hoop that his cousin Kade gave to him. He loves his bottle and REALLY loves whole wheat bread, oatmeal, and blueberries. He does NOT love string cheese, raisins and white bread....funny, huh?!

He doesn't say much beyond the occasional Mama and Daaad...but I am convinced he can sing part of the chorus from "Best of Both Worlds" by Hannah Montana, he certainly hears it enough with his two crazy big sisters :)

Britton has been my calm this last year. You can't help but smile when you see him, and he brings out the best in both of his sisters. His mellow personality is much-needed in a family with two intense little girls and I hope he stays that way. He is starting to really become a ham, and loves when we all sit on the couch and just laugh at his silly antics!

Britton

The last 6 months have completely flown by! My little guy is not so little anymore, and is getting more and more fun by the day. He loves to roll around and play with his toys, he does NOT love baby food, being on his tummy, or those two mean teeth that are trying to push through! He is still as lovable and sweet as ever, and getting chunkier by the day, just the way I like him :)

Tummy Time!

Tummy time at our house has always been a much-hated thing! ALL of my kids have screamed and screamed on their tummies, and Britton (up until this week) has been no different. So I decided we would have family tummy time every day and do some pilates moves I remembered from doing it years ago. It is cute to see how much fun the kids have and how Britton is slowly learning to not hate it so much, doesn't hurt that he can now roll over any time he wants to be on his back again :)

Serioulsy, Britton is already 3 months old! I cannot believe how with each child the newborn stage seems to go by faster and faster. It's really sad for me, because each time I love it more and more, and the more I have the more I realize I won't experience this too many more times (hopefully a couple more though! :)

Britton is my little angel. He has filled a place in my heart that I didn't even know needed filling :) There is something truly special about the Mother/Son bond, and I treasure it! It's odd, I can't quite explain it because I feel a certain closeness with my daughters, that is different but neither one is MORE or LESS, just different.

I don't know how you can't be madly in love with a boy who sleeps 10-11 hours a night by 3 months and takes two 3-hour naps a day :) He is the kind of baby that makes you just want to have more babies! I love you my little man!!

Britton's Blessing

What a beautiful, perfect day! I couldn't hold back the tears as Paul held our little man and gave him a name and a blessing. We were surrounded by so many friends and family that have blessed our lives so much, it was overwheming and incredibly humbling. Thank you so much to all those that come and showed their love for us and Britton. He is a very special little boy, and I know he has been sent to our family for a very special purpose.

And yes, he is wearing cuff links! :)

Luckiest Girl Ever!!

One month old!!

I cannot believe my little man is already one month old! And what a month it has been :) I didn't quite remember what it was like to have a newborn, but not in the way you might think. Of course the nightly feedings, the blowout diapers, the ginormous diaper bag, that is always a little shock to your system, but what I had forgotten has been so incredibly precious. I had forgotten the perfect innocence. I had forgotten the heavenly spirit that always lingers near him. I had forgotten how my little man could make all of us better. Skylar loves him so much, and always looks out for him, making sure he is being taken care of. Kendall is having a harder time, but not with him! When she is in the middle of one of her uncontrollable tantrums the ONLY thing that will calm her down is giving her baby Britton a hug and a kiss. Everytime I am near him I am reminded of everything good and pure. I don't want his innocence to be marred by harsh words, or a lack of the Spirit. So through him, I want to be better. For all my kids I need to be better, and I am so grateful for the reminder. He is such a gift.

These are just a few of my faves, there were so many I couldn't choose. I love my darling kids, and that baby boy has completely stolen my heart :)

He's Here!!

Britton is finally here (funny how it felt like the longest pregnancy ever, and he was actually 4 weeks early!:)!! We had him Sunday, April 26th at 2:45 pm. He was 6 lbs 13 oz, and 20 inches long. He was also absolutely perfect :) I can't describe how amazing it is to spend 3 months constantly worrying, praying, pleading, hoping that your little boy will make it here safely, and then to see him and hear that first cry, just amazing. And then to take him home with us two days later, my heart is just too full. Heavenly Father is so kind, any hardships we faced seem so insignificant when I look into his little face. The blessings outweigh the trials by so much, I feel almost silly to think how I struggled before.

Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to get the pics off my grandmas camera, so we don't have any brand new pics of him, but these two were taken yesterday after his first bath at home. I am loving his adorable blonde hair, and Paul loves his little ears :)

The girls have been amazing through this whole thing, and I think they are so happy to have our family together that Britton has just made it that much sweeter. He has such a sweet tempermant and is very mellow (so far!!) We love our little man!!
