Back to School Breakfast!

I have learned through the last several years that often (actually, more often than not) I will have a great idea for something fun, and then when I go to do it, it never quite turns out like I imagined it too. This has led me to start trying out things before hand to make sure they are actually as cute as I hoped they'd be! Hence, the reason I made my daughter's first day of school breakfast on a Monday night at 9:30 pm...gotta make sure these puppies were gonna turn out! :)

My daughter Skylar LOVES pancakes, so I knew they had to be a part of our first day of school breakfast. Whoever came up with this idea for making different-shaped pancakes is a genius and I applaud you whover you are :) All you need for this fun breakfast is pancake batter, a little food coloring and some squeezy condiment bottles...I got mine at WalMart for .97 each.

First you pour the pancake batter into 3 seperate bowls. Then you leave one plain, add green food coloring to one, and red food coloring to the other.

Then you pour the pancake batter into the condiment bottles. Make sure your griddle is hot and has been sprayed with a little cooking spray.

Then you simply squeeze the outline of an apple with the red pancake batter and then fill it in quickly. Add a straight line with the plain pancake batter and top it off with a little green leaf.

Once you let it cook for a little bit, flip this bad boy over to let it cook on its other side, and you have got yourself one CUTE little apple pancake!

Aren't they darling?! Imagine if I had a decent camera....then you could really enjoy their cuteness ;) The only thing that could make these better is a delicious, creamy apple syrup...YUMMM!

Man, now that I know how easy it is to make pancakes using those condiment bottles I think we are going to be having a LOT more fun-shaped pancakes at the Johnson house! :)

Thank you SO much for stopping by, I hope you find a great way to make the little ones in your life feel loved and special on their big day!
