My Skylar!

Oh, where do I begin?! This little girl brings so much light into my life, and seriously, SO much laughter! Everything is more with Skylar, sometimes that means more drama, almost always more noise, but mostly it means more love, more joy and more happiness than I ever imagined. As wild as she is, I can honestly say I wouldn't change her for the world. She is really sensitive to things of the Spirit and constantly surprises me with insight I wouldn't think an almost 3 year old capable of. I hope she never loses her excitement and ability to make everyone around her smile, and I hope she always knows how much her mommy loves her.

Happy Easter

What a great Easter we had this year. Of course I was so crazy I didn't even take pictures of the girls in their easter dresses, but we did take some the week before so I will just post those :) We had so much fun hiding the easter eggs that eventually led to the easter basket, and Skylar had a ball! More importantly, Skylar now knows that some mean men killed Jesus, but in three days he was resurrected. The only downfall was when I said "Skylar, do you want to be like Jesus when you grow up?" of course she said yes. Then she said, "When I'm big like Jesus, some mean men will kill me too?" Ummm....oops.

Princess Party

As soon as I heard Enchanted was coming out on video I wanted to have a princess party with Skylar to celebrate. We invited her cute cousins over to join in the fun, and it was a blast! We made princess wands and princess hats and ate pink star shaped rice krispie treats and pink princess popcorn. The girls had so much fun getting dressed up and making all the crafts. Thanks to everyone that came that made our princess party such a success, I can't wait to do it again!

7 Months Old!

Seriously, 7 months ALREADY!! I cannot believe how time is flying by! I just had to post about my precious little angel Kendall. It is hard to describe how much joy she has brought to my life, and to our family. Every night Skylar thanks Heavenly Father for sending her a little sister with "cute chubby cheeks" (her words :) She is always ready with a smile, and my favorite thing about her is the way she looks at me. She has the most adoring look that makes you feel like maybe, just maybe, you are actually doing something right. Paul and I are so crazy about Skylar it was hard to imagine feeling that way about another, but your heart truly does grow with each child. I love my Peanut!!

It was inevitable, I suppose...

My first call to Poison Control! Skylar's poison of choice? Icy Hot!! Ouch!! I imagine that didn't feel very good going down. The big question was, how much did she eat? How the heck do I know? If I would have been a good mom and been watching her, she wouldn't have eaten any! They left me with this awesome info. If she didn't eat very much, she should be fine. If she ate a lot, it is really serious and she has to be hospitalized. Hmm, so what should I watch for, I ask. Just look to see if she is acting differently than usual. Two minutes after while I was still on the phone she asked me if she could watch her ABC show again, so I think she will probably be okay :)

I love em, I love em, I love em!!!

I don't know what it is lately, but I cannot get enough of my kids! They are just so fun and bring so much joy to my life. I have been reading President Hinckley's biography and in it, it talks about Sister Hinckley's love for her children. She bawled every time one of her kids had to start school and once when a teacher kept one of her sons after school for something she marched down to the school and told the teacher "You can do whatever you want with my son all day, but after three o clock, he is mine!" I thought that was so sweet and I WILL be that mom crying her eyes out when Skylar starts school. I just love our life so much right now I can't imagine not having them with me all day, every day! Don't get me wrong, there are definite days where I feel like I need a break, but overall I am hooked! :)

RASCAL FLATTS!!!

Best show ever!!! Doesn't hurt that I know every song of theirs and we had amazing seats! I went with my adorable aunt (more like a sister :) Lisa and we had such a great time. She is one of my all-time favorite people, and when I am with her I always know I am going to have fun. Sometimes being a stay at home mom of my two kids makes me feel really old and out of things, so it was so fun to just go out and let loose! It had been years since I had been to a concert so I wasn't sure how I would be, but it didn't take long to get out of my seat, dancing and singing my guts out! Thanks to my husband and Lisa's for planning such a great night for us. Can't wait till the next time they come!!

Rough week...

So you know those weeks where you are just so crazy busy that you are running around trying to do everything, and you really do nothing? And you are trying so hard to take care of all your responsiblities you neglect the most basic like being a loving wife and mother? Well I recently had one of those weeks. By Saturday Paul and I were arguing over little things, the girls were both grumpy and whiny and I had just about had it. Our solution...CHEESECAKE!! And boy was it good! Paul and I put the girls to bed and went to town! It was so great to just relax with my amazing husband, forget about all the stresses of life, and just enjoy each other and our cheesecake :)

Happy Valentines Day!!

Okay I know, it is March, but better late than never right? We had a great Valentines Day this year. We started off the morning with pink scrambled eggs and milk and heartshaped muffins. The eggs looked pretty disgusting but tasted delicious. Then Skylar and I made valentines for everyone and took them to all her little friends and grandparents. On the way we stopped by Paul's work and "heart-attacked" his car. Such a cute idea right? It wasn't mine!! Thanks Camille, you are always so creative! :) Meanwhile throughtout the day the Valentines Man would come and knock on the door and leave little presents for the girls. Skylar got some new books and princess toys and Kendall got some pj's and teething toys. The Valentines Man is one of my favorite traditions from when I was growing up, so I love passing it on to my kids.

Valentines night I had a hot date! Now I have to preface this with telling you Paul has NEVER done anything for Valentines day. I mean nothing. No cards, no flowers, nothing. Every year I give him a hard time about it, but I am mostly joking, because I know it is just not his thing. So this year he tells me we are going out! We start driving and I realize we are headed to his work. We pull into the parking lot and I see a huge Hummer stretch limo!! Are you serious???? Yep, it was for us. We went to dinner, drove around downtown, and ended the night with ice cream. Then when we got home and put the girls to bed, Paul gave me my present. A present?? On top of the great night out? Tickets to Rascal Flatts!!! I cannot wait! The concert is on Friday and I am so excited! So you can see it really was a great Valentines Day! Love you Paul!
